Time for a reste
I stumbled across this lovely shop, reste, on a recent trip to Hastings and it is well worth a visit. Owner, Jacqui Martin, has sourced a great selection of functional and well designed homewares and beauty products; each made with skill and care by craftspeople using traditional methods and materials.
Tired of the ‘pile it high, sell it cheap’ mass-market mentality and the throw-away society that comes with that, Jacqui is convinced that investing in a quality product is not only more rewarding, it is more economical in the long run.
Buy less, buy well is a philosophy that is gaining traction for many reasons and when you see the gorgeous handmade tumblers, walnut chopping boards, stoneware mugs and linen napkins (that are not unreasonably priced) it’s hard not to agree.
