Daylesford Dream Stay, Salvage Style

Natural springs, wild forests and a beautiful boutique stay – it’s easy to see why Daylesford is popular. Just an hour from Melbourne, the charming spa town is a year-round escape for Australia’s urbanites. (Being so close to Melbourne, fantastic food is a given). It’s the reason, interior designer and stylist, Kali Cavanagh, fell in love with the place and created Vintage House Daylesford, her delightful holiday rental. Originally a miner’s cottage, built in the 1860s, the designer completely restored and redesigned the space using salvaged materials, vintage furniture and a whole heap of style.

There are three bedrooms, three bathrooms (including the garden studio) and a glorious sitting room, with an open fire for cosying up on chilly nights. In warm weather there’s a balcony to breakfast on and a lovely landscaped garden, with seating for 12 and an outdoor fire pit. Located between Daylesford and Hepburn Springs, in an acre of land over-looking the Wombat State Forest it’s the perfect rustic retreat.
